Metal-on-metal hip implants can damage the bones or soft tissues in the body, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Yesterday, the agency issued new guidelines on how to follow-up with patients who have all-metal hip replacements such as the DePuy ASR or the Biomet M2a Magnum.
