A newly issued report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says that emergency room visits related to energy drink consumption have increased sharply. In describing the findings in a report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), The New York Times writes that emergency room visits for symptoms related to energy drink consumption doubled between 2007 and 2011, from 10,068 in 2007 to 20,783 in 2011.
